Wildcats #4

After a rocky start, the new Wildcats series finds it's footing and shows us the new world order.
When the Wildcats was relaunched, I was geeked. I've been a fan of these characters for years. I bought issues 1 and 2 but wasn't impressed enough to keep going with the series.
Picking up issue 4, I was happy to see that the artwork and story had grown stronger. Jumping into Part II of Eden, I was confused at who Grifter was fighting with. Who's Paris, and how can he survive two knife wounds? How did the animals change from exotic animals to the talking variety monsters?
The Good
Googe's Maul is great. Huge, massive. That's how Jeremey should be.
Gage's plot and character moments are great. It's great to see Grifter and Zealot's love/hate relationship in full force. Nemesis and Backlash are still one step ahead of their teammates.
Tumbleweed was fun. Glad to see the Daemonites are back.
The Okay
I use Googe's Majestic work as the baseline, and Wildcats isn't there yet. The face structure of all the characters is too similar.
I was confused by the Cybernary back-up story. Did Gamorra Island survive the Armegeddon? Gage summarized all the Cybernary storylines that have happened before. It was great seeing all the different characters involved with Gamorra from the monster cyborgs to the super soldiers in the black costumes. Like all those series, this story didn't take Cybernary any further than swords and chasing after Kaizen. I want to see some plot development with Cybernary.
Overall
I'm back with this series for the long-haul.
